Welcome Reception

The welcome reception and registration took place
Tuesday 15 September 17:00-19:00 at the Round Tower (Rundetaarn), Købmagergade 52A, Copenhagen.

The champagne reception was held on top of ’The Round Tower’ in beautiful sunny weather, giving the conference participants a magnificent view of the city of Copenhagen. This historical building was erected on the initiative of King Christian IV (1588-1648) and is part of a complex consisting of an astronomical observatory, a student’s church and a university library. Inside, a spiral walk with no stairs brought the participants up to the observation deck where a special admission was given to look at the telescope still functioning and being used for astronomical observations.
